American Heartland Tour Launches Next Week

The final preparations for the American Heartland Tour are being made now as the Tour kicks off next week. The goal of the Tour is to visit many of the small towns that make America great and along the way conduct Veteran oral history interviews. This trip will cover 15 States as I drive more than 5,000 miles across the country.

To promote this trip, I have partnered with Governors State University who is helping to get the message out. Big thanks to Dean Andrae Marak of the School of Arts and Sciences as well as to Stacy Amedeo.

Likewise, I have reached out to each VFW and American Legion Post along the way as well as the Department of Veteran Affairs for each State. The response so far has been incredible as I have many Veteran oral history interviews scheduled, many of which will be at Veterans Homes or at local Posts.

Additional interview opportunities exist in the following locations: Eau Claire, WI; Minneapolis, MN; Fargo, ND; Idaho Falls, ID; Salt Lake City, UT; Flagstaff, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; Oklahoma City, OK; Wichita, KS; and Kansas City, MO. If you know of a Veteran that would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact me ASAP at patrick@making-history-project.com as I am finalizing the interview schedule now.

Starting next week, please be sure to check out the Facebook page for the Making History Project as well as my posts on LinkedIn for daily updates as I make my way across the country. I will be posting some incredible photos as well as my thoughts as to the incredible people and sights that I see. Stay tuned.
