Paying it Forward: Another Example of the Legacy of the Greatest Generation

WWII Veteran Joe C. Andrew
Joe C. Andrew

I wanted to share an incredibly heartwarming story about Joe C. Andrew, a World War II Veteran from the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment on how he met his wife, incurred a debt to get married, and how his daughter paid forward that debt on the 75th Anniversary of the 508 P.IR.

Such a story is but just another example of the integrity and legacy of the Greatest Generation. Without further adieu, I will let the daughter, Dee Dee Massey tell the story of her father in her own words:

  1. Thank you Patrick for sharing this piece of history, and most important to show us today how far away we are from a world of integrity, ethics and trust that our grandfathers constructed with sacrifice, hard work and respect to each other.
This is the kind of lesson missed in today’s classrooms.

    Best regards,

  2. Thank you Patrick for Sharing our story.

Dad taught me a lot in my lifetime. Integrity, love of country, work ethic, God and family.

What he didn’t teach me was how to live the rest of my life without him physically in it.

    Thank you once again.
